    I have personally been to the Heritage Museum and it was an amazing experience. Everyone who has a chance should definitely go.

    One of the hidden treasures I found was the museum of the city of St Petersburg at the Peter and Paul fortress (I may not have the name exactly correct). It was a modern museum with excellent exhibits. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to really explore but if you are going to Piter be sure to visit this museum.
